Hi, my name is Joe Nicholson and I am a just-retired (2025) high school math teacher, having spent 13 years teaching at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School after a career in business. I was the lead teacher for the calculus and precalculus teams at CRLS, and I’ve taught Honors Precalculus,
AP Calculus BC, and Honors Multivariable Calculus during that time.
My academic background includes a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University, and MBA from Suffolk University, and in 2020 I completed a Master's Degree in the Art of Teaching Mathematics from Harvard University's Extension School.
I’ve had the good fortune of teaching and writing college recommendations for talented and driven students who’ve moved on to the finest universities
to pursue STEM, Computer Science and other fields. I hope to continue tutoring motivated high school students who want to excel on AP exams,
SAT tests and/or in the classroom.
I did some virtual tutoring and teaching during the pandemic, and I believe that it’s the most effective and efficient way to provide focused and personalized instruction to students needing help outside of the classroom.
